MARIKINA CITY — June 2025 — With drums, colors, and cries for justice echoing through the streets of Marikina, Marikina People’s Pride: The Future is Inclusive made history as a Pride celebration rooted not in commercial glitz, but in genuine community spirit and collective resistance.

Held with flair and purpose, the event brought together queer voices, allies, activists, and everyday citizens in a powerful affirmation that Pride belongs to the people—not just to corporations or photo ops. Participants came not just to celebrate, but to rumampa, rumisist, at rumakrak for human rights, equality, and a future that leaves no one behind.

The event was co-organized by Humanist PH, Philippine Pastafarian Church, Iglesia Ng Kalayaan, Secular Filipinos for Better Governance, and the always supportive Strip 70 Homeowners Association—proving that grassroots collaboration can build a celebration that’s as fierce as it is freeing.

Adding star power to the advocacy were featured guests and allies:

  • HAPI Alabang, showing up and showing out with joy and purpose

  • Atty. Luke Espiritu, delivering fiery words on justice and human rights

  • Councilor Ziffred Ancheta, a beacon of inclusivity in local governance

  • MJ Masaganda of the Metropolitan Community Church, who inspired with a message that faith and fabulosity can thrive together

A heartfelt shoutout also goes to Kapitan Gerry of Concepcion Uno, whose steadfast support proves that inclusive leadership starts at the barangay level.

In true Pride fashion, the day was filled with laughter, love, liberation—and a reminder that the fight doesn’t end here.

“Tuloy ang Pride, tuloy ang pakikibaka, at tuloy ang chika for change,” organizers declared. “Dahil ang future ay inclusive—at tayong lahat ang magtatayo niyan.”
