September 14, 2025 – Philippines — The Philippine Pastafarian Church, in partnership with Humanist PH, conducted its second outreach visit to the House of Somang this year, bringing warmth, joy, and meaningful connection to the residents of the care facility, which houses 41 senior citizens and 10 orphans.
The visit, led by Rev. Angie of the Philippine Pastafarian Church and joined by Humanist PH founder Mac Adornado, marked a significant milestone as it also featured the first-ever Sunday Assembly at the facility. The event was filled with music, dance, poetry readings, and heartfelt conversations shared between the residents and volunteers, creating an atmosphere of joy and solidarity.
In his message, Mr. Adornado delivered a powerful reflection on hope and the inherent dignity of every human being, underscoring the shared values of compassion, respect, and humanism that guide both organizations.
The success of the activity was made possible through the generous support of several individuals and partners. The Philippine Pastafarian Church and Humanist PH extend their deepest gratitude to the following:
-
Ms. Sonia D., for initiating the visit and donating food items and clothing for male residents
-
Sir Mike, for his presence and generous donation of rice
-
Sir RJ, for hosting the event and donating eggs and underpads
-
Sly Kane (kick.com/slykane), Ms. Anne, and family, for providing meals
-
Ms. Marie and Truest Roots #TrueKitchenStories, for preparing and serving delicious home-cooked meals
These acts of kindness helped create a memorable and nourishing experience for the residents.
The Philippine Pastafarian Church, as part of the Humanist PH family, remains committed to community service and promoting humanist values through inclusive, secular outreach programs. The Church looks forward to spending more time with the adopted lolos and lolas of House of Somang in the coming months.
